The #MiamiSharkProject is a woman-led scientific team working to understand and conserve Biscayne Bay, a critical marine estuary located along the coast of downtown Miami, FL. The Miami Shark Project team has discovered that Biscayne Bay is critical nursery habitat for at least seven shark or ray species, including IUCN Red List Critically Endangered great and scalloped hammerheads. They combine ecological and social research to build a better future for Miami and  Biscayne Bay–one where humans and nature can thrive together.
